Sabyasachi and Rani Mukherji bond over jewellery
Jewellery is not a materialistic
gift in our culture. Since time immemorial, it has been a way of expression for
us. When a mother gifts jewellery to her soon-to-be married daughter, it symbolises
passing on family values to her daughter that she is expected to uphold all of her life. When a mother-in-law welcomes the bride with a jewellery set, it implies her
acceptance into the new family. Even when siblings express their love, they
take this sparkling route. Not to mention, how jewellery marks the lifelong union
of lovers. No matter what the relationship is, no matter what the occasion is, the receiver of jewellery is touched for sure.
In case of Rani Mukherji too, when her best friend Sabyasachi – who recently forayed into jewellery designing, presented his first-ever creation to her, she too could not contain her emotions. It was a pair of polki earrings with South Sea pearls that was created keeping Rani's charm in mind. So, what better occasion to present it to the queen herself than the release time of her comeback film Hichki after three years.
Naturally, Rani was surprised as well as emotionally overwhelmed by this thoughtful gesture of her best friend. This was Sabya’s way of congratulating Rani for playing a challenging role Naina Mathur, who has a nervous system disorder - Tourette Syndrome (the individual makes involuntary repetitive movements or sounds) and wishing good luck for the second inning. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma, Hichki is slated to release on February 23. So block your dates now.
