Rekha steals the limelight from young actors

Rekha has her own parallel world of fashion. Unaffected by the ongoing trends, she continues to bewitch us with her eternal charisma. Recently she was spotted at Virushka’s Mumbai reception. Once again she had worn a traditional saree. Once again she had rounded off her look with sindoor and bindi. Yet she looked like a breath of fresh air amidst the glossy girls of B-town.

Clad in a lustrous Kanjeevaram saree, Rekha adorned herself with a multi-layered necklace and a pair of stunning earrings. The matching banglesset further embellished her gorgeous self. Her trademark potli infused the ethic charm into her overall look. In her traditional ensemble, at 63, she gave the new crop of actresses run for their money. Their best of designer gowns failed to outshine her traditional appearance.

The original Umrao Jaan was not the only one who took the saree route for this grand occasion. There were Priyanka Chopra, Madhuri Dixit and Kangana Ranaut too who showed up in designer six yards. But Rekha has championed the saree game. The ease with which she carries saree, it feels as if she was born to wear it and no one, means no one, can outshine her in that.
