Saree-clad Sridevi outshines gowned Bollywood divas

Saree is the safest bet when it comes to making public appearances for stars. This year, Sridevi took this route to walk the red carpet at the Zee Cine Awards. With her husband Boney Kapoor in tow, she showed up in a designer golden saree. Draping it in a flowy style, she looked like a vision in a centre-parted low bun. Further embellished with a fine jewelleryset, she made us wonder if she was real. Her lavishly designed necklace and an elegant pair of jhumkas adorned her like a goddess.

The award night was a star-studded affair. From Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Tapsee Pannu and Priyanka Chopra to Ranveer Singh, Siddharth Malhotra, Shahid Kapoor and Akshay Kumar, it had who’s who of Bollywood in attendance. Each one showed up in their best fineries. While Priyanka looked ravishing in her pink gown, Alia dazzled in blue. Tapsee and Katrina twinned in pastel dresses. Even men looked dashing at the do. Shahid’s checks coat, Akshay’s black blazer and Ranveer’s floral print glossy tuxedo, yes you read that right floral print, gave some serious fashion goals to men out there.   

But in her lustrous saree, the yesteryear diva gave the new-age actresses run for their money. Even Hollywood-returned Quantico star failed to upstage her.
